I have always had a thing for platform boots. It’s the nineties grunge itch. Doesn’t go away. It just hibernates for a couple of years then re-surfaces. I shoot people wearing them and say eff you to the theory that they make your feet look bigger – remember that 2013 post on that black pair? Vetements gets it (or have lost their God damn mind). They’ve elevated punk grunge to designer status with their clothing line and their current take on platform boots.
The amount of velvet footwear for sale is staggering. This is a guide to some of the best ones out there. First off, classic styles don’t date. I’ve had my blue velvet cowboy boots for about four or five years and love them as much as the first day they delivered. My friend bought the above Dries Van Noten velvet boots which have almost sold out worldwide, but once scored I reckon they will last for years and justify the spend. The below silver grey pair (insert scream face
The metallic pleated skirt is going to be everywhere this season, but this two-toned version will really turn it up a notch with its bold, contrasting design. A major plus is that it's under $100 and goes perfectly with your favorite pair of Adidas sneakers.Get the look:+ ASOS Cropped Rolled Edge Sweater+ ASOS Mini Digital Mesh Strap Watch+ ASOS Metallic Pleated Contrast Skirt+ Adidas Superstar Sneakers SOURCE: Le Fashion - Read entire story here.
Photo via: Style CasterStreet style muse Pernille Teisbaek shows us just how easy it is to keep wearing the 90s-inspired layered cami look for fall. Rather than layer your favorite easy tank over a white tee, switch it out for a contrasting long sleeve slim turtleneck top instead. This will keep you warm and is guaranteed to bring the look to the next level. Try it with jeans or your favorite pants along with a pair of cool drop earrings for some extra "oomph".Get the look: + Wolford Colorado
Wear sleeved shirts or sweatshirts over printed dresses or summer skirts. Her glasses are gorge. Similars by Asos, McQueen and Miu Miu! Try skirts from MSGM, Intermix (love!), Warehouse or Marni. Layer skinny polo necks under short or long dresses. Also perfect if you hate your arms. Club Monaco has one with a scallop neck or try Vince or a mock neck olive from Topshop. Un-boho off the shoulder tops (I think this is her top found on clearance) with structured culottes

It’s August but I’m thinking about Autumn. Mentally speaking, this is the cross over month. I’m dressed for the heat but baby steps shopping for the cold. Classic pieces summed up in the above look are the hero searches: the perfect leather jacket and perfect jeans. Tell me they really exist?? She wore her Saint Laurent jacket (yes I asked) and Levi’s in the height of summer, but this is brilliant for the temp drop. One glance at ‘What’s New‘
At the end of every Full Monty I ask a series of questions on snapchat and the above is one of them because it tells you something about their personal style. So which one are you? I want to cheat and say I’m both, but I think, while sitting right now in a pair of my fave denim cut offs, winter still wins. There are more clothing options and there’s more to wear all at the same time (this is the real reason let’s be honest). You’ve got the hats, the scarves, the jackets
This is the definition of effortless and it’s (still) one of my fave street style photos. Her sandals are Isabel Marant (similars by K.Jacques), her bag is by Baggu and her pyjamas are vintage. Wear now with sandals or slides, later indoors on the sofa or as separates with denim for Autumn. Bonus: Being oversized, they are perfect slouchy separates no? . . . June Ambrose and Natalie Joos demonstrating the art of both. Just like bags or shoes, we gravitate to one side. All of us love a bloody good shoe and all of us have way too many of them but deep down are you more of a flats or a heels girl? I would like to say I love heels more but that’s theory. I know deep down that my British DNA will always turn her head after spotting a killer pair of beat up Dr Martens or vintage boots and do not even get me started on brogues. A reader once asked:
A long printed dress and anchor it with simple black accessories. Done! I feel like this one is as basic as it gets, especially now that it’s warming up all week in New York (at long bloody last). Shot last year, this is an easy outfit idea for this memorial day weekend – or any weekend come to think of it. I should probably add ‘right now’ to that blog post title because it’s what I use for now. Next month it will shift to different ones. Some use a bag for one week straight (or longer). Others are magpies, switching bags depending on their mood. I am the latter. Most of the time I carry a Nikon to shoot street style, so that’s usually slung over my shoulder too – hence why I stick to smaller bags. So this is my current rotation and click on my shop to see the
Another summer rolls around and I am still looking for the perfect (insert any of the above). You can’t tell me that these pieces do not exist because I have interviewed many who have found their holy grails although they struggle to complete their lists. With all my years of shopping in London and in New York, this is my (summer and year round) list of the pieces that I still cannot find: The Perfect Platform Wedge Sandals I want ones that have a gigantic wedge but Jedi mind trick the
Has anyone noticed how the turnover of It bags has speeded up in recent years? Gone are the days when our mother had a bag for over a year or even years. When her bag was worn until the leather broke in. It got spilled on, rained on, parts got replaced or repaired. It was her signature. It looked loved because it was and for many it was our first chance at playing grown up with her bag on our little shoulder. Fast foward to 2016 and designer bags are launched every season. In some cases
Before I speech, click the photo to see 10 alternative loafer slides I found… Back to the above: Knowing my gravitational pull to men’s styles (hello), I brooded over these Gucci Princetown leather slippers from afar. Months passed and I did not cave. Until spring started. I committed the cardinal sin of trying them on didn’t I (plus trying on the metallics – oh God are they good) “just to see.” That was my mistake. From then the search for a pair in my
