Yesterday (at the time of typing this post) I was in downtown Manhattan and popped into a few shops. The usual high street subjects: Topshop, Zara, &Otherstories etc and with each shop I questioned how much joy was I REALLY getting out of it? When online that blouse is shown off perfectly which created that lust, but in the shops, with that same blouse on a hanger and in my hand it doesn’t seem as, I don’t know, special? Online it’s almost Instagram level beautiful
I have basically gone into over drive with bright what I call crayola colors this spring. Not exactly sure when it started but it was somewhere pre New Orleans trip and it’s been full on ever since. Case in point, when I saw this canary yellow bralette and satin cobalt blue skirt combination I was (obviously) sold. The brighter and clashier (just invented a new word), the better. The barely there ruffle heels were just too tempting not to get too. You can get the lot for 20% off with
Photos via: Happily GreySummertime is not exclusive to short sleeves and light airy fabrics. When worn correctly, you can incorporate Fall pieces without the risk of overheating. Mary proved this in a slouchy sweater, wrap skirt, and nude heels.Get the look:+ C/Meo Evolution Crossover Sweater+ Cupcakes And Cashmere Cross Front Sweater+ Isabel Marant Penelope Denim Miniskirt+ Tibi Plaid Ruffle Front Skort+ Chloé Leather Pumps SOURCE: Le Fashion - Read entire story here.
Photo via: MadewellThe new arrivals at Madewell are literally Pieces of summer perfection. This Denim skirt happens to be one of the must-haves on our list from the site. Wear it with a funky t-shirt and some strappy sandals or dress it up with a silky blouse and chunky espadrilles. Either way you style it you're bound to get a lot of wear out of this cool piece. Who has (or should I say who doesn’t) have an pair of espadrilles? You already saw these Castaner espadrilles on my snapchat and Instagram stories (karenbritchick). Espadrilles will probably always be my fave shoe of the summer – remember this post about them? I saw these on the Net-A-Porter sale and that was enough of a sign to cave. I’ve come full circle in wearing them since they were my shoe of the summer when growing up in London. I know a lot of you agree that
Alright. I have a confession. I own the Miu Miu nude ballet flats. I caved last month with a $150 Matches fashion discount code. Some of you have seen them on my Instagram and Snapchat. So I love them so much that I also wanted the black pair (of course). To satisfy the lust for that edgier pair, I found the above velvet lookalikes (note: They come with burgundy velvet and gingham straps – the black ribbon shown is from my Miu Mius). They run true to size and yes you are very
Here’s what I wore for fashion week on Saturday. It was 90 but felt like 100. Imagine standing in that for hours with about 200 photographers? I wore an oversized shirt and loose skirt with slides while shooting. I’ll see you again tomorrow morning on Snapchat and Instagram Stories!(karenbritchick) . . . Skirt: Halston Heritage. Similar from BCBGMaxazria (on sale), BooHoo (get the biggest and wear on hips) or Asos. Shirt: Zara. Similar from Ralph Lauren. Slides: Jeffrey
Wearing: The Twenty Two T-Shirt, Georgia Alice Black Water SkirtA trend that i’ve seen coming through via buying for The UNDONE is drawstring type rouching along the sides of skirts, tops and dresses, as seen here on this new Georgia Alice skirt. This is the most beautiful skirt to touch, its a double layered thick silk that slips through your fingers. Seriously one of my favourite textiles. I like that you can change this skirt to suit your height or how rouched you want the look to be.
Oh Gucci… metallics, vintage prints, sequins, mules and geek shoes (God the shoes)… Military coat: Zara men. Try Vince or Warehouse (both on sale). Blouse: Vintage. Skirt: Reiss. Similars from Shoptiques and Alice & Olivia. Seen before in this older post. Croc loafers: Vintage. Try Giovanni or Jenni Kayne. Bag: Gucci. Shades: Vintage. Try Wildfox. The whole aesthetic is like rolling around at your favorite flea market. For anyone not sure, I say try a metallic skirt
photos by marcel @ onedapperstreet.com I’m wearing: French Connection cape. Elizabeth and James blouse. Theory skirt. Coach bag. Duo boots. Let’s talk about capes, or ponchos, or whatever you want to call them. Okay, so they’re basically just blankets you can wear as outerwear. But isn’t that precisely why it’s cool? I mean, you can take it off and use it as a blanket. Might just be the perfect thing for plane rides…something to think about. And to make the
Almost anything can be found for less than what it originally says on the tag if you wait long enough… Blouse: Isabel Marant Etoile (on sale). Similar doilys: Asos or Tularosa (in red).
