This dress is an amazing 80s-does-50s piece from one of my favorite designers Jan Barboglio. I have been wearing this so much lately, it makes me so happy! Such amazing detail in such a simple design. Wearing vintage dress (similar vibe here) with a Lagos del Mundo tote, straw boater hat, and Stuart Weitzman heels. Two years on and I still have these heels. For me that’s not good that’s abnormal – especially spiked. I wore them for a drive there/drive back event (sorry clutch was in the car). Mine aren’t sold anymore but Sam Edelman does a good-ish dupe. I reckon everyone needs one (or two) opposites to the norm in their wardrobe though. I know one friend where her opposite is a pair of trainers because she lives in heels. Foreign territory for me because I could never wear
How was your Easter? Ours was pretty quiet although watching kids walking around yesterday afternoon with easter baskets always gets me. As women the chocolate fix remains but we upgraded the bags to carry them in. Speaking of bags, I need help: A friend has this Chloe Faye bag in the same colour (more or less) as the above and she’s offering it to me for a good price. Should I? If I get, the above PS11 may go (any potential takers?) Instagram followers already saw the rock and
I bought this beautiful skirt online and it arrived with a note from the seller saying that it’s original owner had a climate-controlled vault built in her home to store her clothes. This skirt is around 60 years old and is in brand new condition! I love finding items with stories like that. Now if only I could have a vault to store my clothes in…!It’s unusual find a skirt like this in silk. You can’t see very well but it has rhinestones and studs throughout the
I have special memories of Bulgari’s B.zero1 designs …they remind me of my magical trip to Rome last summer. We spent a few days on a whirlwind tour, shooting a video for the B.zero1 collection. It was wonderful seeing the Eternal City in a new light. On this new journey Bulgari introduced me to the new styles in the iconic B.zero1 collection. Created by mistake, when the original B.zero1 was introduced, these styles have remained have remained a secret until now. These pieces speak to

Oh Gucci… metallics, vintage prints, sequins, mules and geek shoes (God the shoes)… Military coat: Zara men. Try Vince or Warehouse (both on sale). Blouse: Vintage. Skirt: Reiss. Similars from Shoptiques and Alice & Olivia. Seen before in this older post. Croc loafers: Vintage. Try Giovanni or Jenni Kayne. Bag: Gucci. Shades: Vintage. Try Wildfox. The whole aesthetic is like rolling around at your favorite flea market. For anyone not sure, I say try a metallic skirt
It’s Official, I’m A Marshmallow! …Well I looked like one on Wednesday night at the David Jones AW16 Launch! Other references made to this dress included Jiggly Puff, a bridesmaid, fluffy candy floss, plus I was asked if I was going to prom. But oh my gosh does a pink dress to wonders for your mood, I pretty much skipped my way through the evening and was quite a site among the fashion crowd sea of black and white. Dress, Easton Pearson. See the shots I took backstage at
Every once a while you want all black and the unexpected mild-ish week means digging up culottes. Granted I had leggings under them but you get the point. Peacoat jacket: H&M (old). Culottes: H&M. Similar from James Jeans (on sale) or Asos (go up a size or two so it hits lower on leg). Polo neck jumper: Gap. Bag: Celine (pre-loved). Shades: Ray-Ban Foldable Wayfarers. Shoes: Converse I see culottes worn in two lengths: either around the calf so they are like really long shorts sort
I’m going to let you in on a shoe search I constantly do….I’m obsessed with looking at Casadei’s shoes on Yoox! They usually get really discounted, and from time to time an insane pair like these red ankle boots will pop up. These boots are not mine, they are my mom’s! They are the shoe I covet the most from her closet. She has a couple of Casadei shoes she snagged on Yoox that are totally out of this world. Right now I have my eyes on these gold cowboy boots! I
Took an old camera and a few rolls of film for a ride around New Zealand this summer… Above: Wearing a Thursday Sunday top and Vale jeans in Mokau. My trusty Dermalogica Protection 50 Sport Suncreen and Miu Miu bag at Urenui beach. Holiday Bliss in Karen Walker and Mavi. Dangling my Deadly Ponies Len Lye scarf outside the spectacular Len Lye Centre in New Plymouth. Wearing Karen Walker and Mavi Denim in Taranaki. Summer reading by Alex Monroe. My new years resolution to step up my fitness game has left me very sore and made me neglectful of all of my less-than-comfy shoes lately. I’m so grateful for these Adidas and this warm bomber coat this week! Wearing a pinstripe blue dress with an oversized bomber coat, Gucci handbag, and Adidas Superstar sneakers. Mid-calf boots and anything in grey cashmere are style mainstays for me, especially as the chill of December sets in! I am loving the 70s vibe of these Marc Fisher LTD tassel booties! I wore them for a shopping trip to one of my favorite haunts in Dallas, the Joule Hotel. I have to pop into Ten Over Six whenever I’m there, they carry all of my favorite denim and have fantastic home goods! I referenced one of my favorite movies, Eyes of Laura Mars, to style this outfit. I love mid-calf
