Hi! Hello! After a week of living in sawdust, I’m still living in sawdust! But now we have beautiful new floors (mixed width ash, finished with oil and wax) and a new dining room table! It’s really looking great but there’s still drywall to be hung and finished, base boards to be milled and installed, walls to be painted, new lighting, etc. We’re getting there! Wanna know where I’m going with all of this? I thought I’d help myself get visually organized and share a little of my vision with you
WhatIWore: My mom made a lot of my clothes when I was younger. One piece I remember collaborating on (and loving) was a simple white cotton eyelet top. I wore it with bright blue floral shorts to Disney World. It was a standout piece from my childhood!I still love eyelet - it can either read prim and polished or soft and bohemian. I recently bought a couple of yards on sale and I think I’ll do a circle skirt and some sort of top that can be worn together or separately. Just a few (read: dozen!)
WhatIWore: With my 70s fashion kick in full swing, I’ve been really inspired by denim skirts - specifically button front A-line or pencil cut versions. Depending on where in the world you live, you’ve either seen a lot of this trend or really hope it never catches hold. Jean skirts can go really wrong (search them on Pinterest and you’ll see what I mean) but they can also look really fresh and chic. I like them best with tops tucked in (even halfway) to a higher rise and without sneakers.
