Photo via: The Chriselle FactorWhile mixing patterns can be quite difficult, wearing one color can be a simpler, more put together way to style an outfit. Mixing textures and similar hues help you to achieve an overall tonal look while adding in more detail. Chriselle Lim expertly does monochromatic in a cherry red fitted knit, trousers, classic pumps, and a leather crossbody bag. Want to take it up a notch? Red cat-eye sunglasses will do the trick. This is what I wore for the Bill Cunningham memorial on Monday afternoon. The end of the invitation read simply: Dress For Bill, so bright colors it was. For those that don’t know, Bill was really one of the first ever street style photographers who’s prolific work was only ever overshadowed by his incredible sincere and endearing personality. The memorial was a who’s who of guests from Editor in Chiefs of magazines to designers to his colleagues from The New York Times.
I am wearing a printed skirt as a dress with heels that remind me of the Caribbean which, given recent temps isn’t that much of a stretch. If you have a long skirt with a flexible waist just try it as a dress. It’s one of my fave ways to re-fresh old pieces or let’s be honest, when you can’t be asked to faff around in shops so just make do. Add a jacket if you don’t fancy having your arms out and to keep it more city vibe. Obviously this works with white
Photos via: Take AimMichelle of Take Aim amped up her transitional outfit with a few important accessories. Instead of a white button down, she opted for a kimono style wrap blouse. Rather than tying her scarf around her neck (which has been seen everywhere lately) she tied it around her black crossbody bag. For an extra oomph, she added some cool caged sandals and burgundy sunglasses.Get the look:+ Celine Burgundy Sunglasses+ Ottoman Kimono Wrap Top+ Yumi Kim That's A Wrap Blouse+ J Brand

We shot a little project over on Cockatoo Island today, so I thought I would make JD work even more, just in case he wasn’t over taking images of me. He’s such a good egg, that JD. We can’t wait to show you what we worked on! WEARING Lee Jeans Shorts Three Of Something Blouse Nine West Boots Madewell Bag I am loving this early Spring weather – it is so different to the -3 I experienced this past weekend while I was on a road trip in the Blue Mountains. Before going to a lunch I had these photos taken and realized who the f**k needs black when there's color to experiment with. Jacket: ACNE (found this local consignment shop!!). Try PAUL by Paul Smith, Shopbop or Shoptiques. Shorts + blouse: French Connection. Try Jean Paul Gaultier or one of these at Asos. Shoes: Sigerson Morrison (on sale). Try Alexander Wang (on sale too - heck what isn't right now?), Bag: Alexander Wang. Try DVF (yep - it's on sale). The purple linen shorts
Pink is cool but it never got to me till I saw this skirt. It's the combo of pleats, the long length (I sized up so it sits lower) and the right pink shade. Still I always feel it's a bit too girly on me hence the jacket. Leather jacket: Trash & Vaudeville on St. Marks in the East Village (ask for Jimmy if you go). Try River Island, I like this perfed one, Schott or Asos. Skirt: Asos. Comes in yellow (gorge!). Shoes: Tom Ford (on sale thx to the shoe Gods). Try IRO, Asos,
I reckon it's not a stretch to go all summer wearing all white or all black head to toe or in combination. T-shirt and mules: Zara. Try Tibi, Margiela or these mules if you hate your toes. Leather trousers: Isabel Marant x H&M. Blazer: Asos. Bag: Chanel. Try Rebecca Minkoff. Handcuff necklace: Jennifer Zeuner. Try Gorjana. Friends I talk to about what they want to wear this summer are feeling the same way; just wear monochrome for weeks. This earlier post in all
