Yet another seasonal post focused on the fact the Australian summer is only a few days away. You don’t need much to be beachwear ready, just a few items and you’re set.
1. Swimwear Update.
It’s almost a right of passage for Aussies to treat themselves to a new cossie every year. My tip is to take a stock count of what you currently have, update/replace anything that is necessary. e.g. a simple black one piece or triangle set that you’ll live in and then work out if there is a style that would a be fun addition, like this tie up black bandeau from Marysia Swim.
2. The Cover Up.
Its sometimes a forgotten item, but the coverup once will become one of your favourite items. Look for one that can be appropriate also away from the beach when you need to pop into the local corner store or to be worn around your friends summer BBQ. My favourites are light linen and cotton pieces and Matin is my current go-to brand that has this nailed. Linen pieces get softer and more relaxed with each wear and wash, so don’t be put off by the crunchiness of the fabric when you first wear them.
Do yourself a favour and invest in a brimmed hat this summer. I adore my Akubra – this is such an Aussie post haha – but seriously, they are made to last forever and will be something you have for a lifetime.
Make sure you have a simple pair of black or nude sandals – slides are still more favourite.
5. Tote Bag
A simple canvas tote to fit your town, magazine and SPF. Or you can make a seasonal update and go for a currently trending, yet classic, basket bag.
